igus offers a free e-chain opener for lightning fast opening with each E2 micro delivery

With its E2.10 and E2.15 micro e-chain series, the energy supply system specialist igus demonstrates the rugged, flexible and simple way to guide energy. The E2 micro e-chain is available in two inner heights, six inner widths, and a range of different bending radii. A free chain opener is included with all micro e-chains, which allows opening times to be drastically reduced.

E2 micro from igus: supplying energy made easy

While the E2 micro e-chains are small and light with inner heights of just 10 and 15mm, they are nevertheless extremely tough. By employing a dual stop dog system, the allowable fill weight on Series E2.15 was increased by 100% compared to equivalent predecessor models, and unsupported travel lengths were increased by 25 percent to 1.25m.

Lightning fast opening
The E2 family is available in three versions: one-piece with enclosed e-chain links, and two-piece, with crossbars that can snap open on the inside or outside. The snap-open crossbars allow chains to be quickly and conveniently filled with cables and hoses. In addition, igus has developed a simple tool for even faster and easier opening: the handy plastic e-chain opener is equipped with side tabs that release then fully pivot open all cross bars within seconds. This reduces opening time tenfold. The igus opening tool is included with every customer order.

180 options due to kit approach
Until now, the three versions of the E2 micro were available in only one inner width of 20 mm; six more inner widths (10, 13, 16, 30, 40 and 50 mm) as well as various bending radii have now been added. Using this approach, igus offers 180 combinations for different applications; this allows an exact match for any small moving power and data application. Uses range from horizontal, vertically hanging or standing, circular, or side mounted installations – all allowed by the flexible mounting bracket options. An optional "quick flange" can also be used to secure the chain on the front face of a bulkhead for example.

Online configurator simplifies the selection process
igus strives to simplify the correct selection and procurement of components as much as possible. The online configurator helps with this: any energy supply system can be configured online by entering application parameters ranging from the energy chain filling, to speed and acceleration and environment. Everything can easily be obtained from a single source – for example 1,030 chainflex cable types have been developed specifically for use in energy chains and are available from stock. These can even be pre-fitted with connectors and supplied completely fitted as a "readychain".
