Finding the complete solution to bolt failure

There appear to be two main reasons for bolt failure: spontaneous bolt loosening or fastener rotation caused by vibration and dynamic loads; and slackening of a bolted joint caused by settlements and relaxation.
Solutions currently available on the market tend to address only one of the two challenges, offering either a locking system or an elastic system to secure the bolted connection.
Of spontaneous bolt loosening or slackening, which will have the biggest effect on the joint? The decision on which solution can be a difficult compromise, especially as both scenarios have the potential to result in application failure.
Help is however at hand. Nord-Lock has been working on a system that eliminates customer's insecurity when choosing a solution for loose joints and will be effective against dynamic loads, vibration, settlement and relaxation all together.
