This addition is a step towards ensuring a faster and more efficient production of its components.

A feature of the new bandsaw is its programmable numerical control, which allows for autonomous operation. The machine is expected to operate efficiently without continuous operator oversight, enabling WDS Components to optimise its workforce deployment and further enhance its production efficiency.

According to WDS, this means that once set, the bandsaw can execute tasks, even in an unattended mode, ensuring that its production lines are always in motion.

Other features of the new bandsaw include:

  • Variable blade speed, ranging from 25 to 90 m/min, allows it to optimise the cutting process for different materials, ensuring a clean cut while also maximising blade life
  • A 1.4 metre roller conveyor that can automatically transport materials up to 300 mm wide
  • A 2.2 kW motor allowing it to cater to a wider range of customer requirements with enhanced efficiency
  • A hydraulic vice with variable pressure and adjustable manual top roller so that materials are held securely and moved smoothly throughout the cutting process
  • A powered swarf conveyor to clear waste, ensuring the safety and consistency of operation and contributing to the longevity and durability of the machine
