Norco’s achievement is the result of efforts by its sales and engineering team, specifically Ned Popham and Harry Dodge.

Steve Quick, boats programme lead at BAE Systems Maritime Services, said: “We are pleased to appoint Norco as one of our key composites suppliers following a successful collaboration in the delivery of key defence assets in 2024. Working with Norco reinforces our legacy in quality composite construction of specialist fabrications and will allow continued production of critical composite craft for our defence customers.”

Harry Dodge, Norco’s business development manager, said: “Our appointment by BAE Systems is a proud moment for all of us at Norco. It represents a vote of confidence from one of the defence industry’s most prominent Original Equipment Manufacturers in our pursuit of excellence in providing high-quality products and services to our clients. We look forward to continuing our work with BAE Systems and further pioneering in the defence sector.”

Last October, Norco Composites & GRP appointed Elly Ruston head of people. As part of her role, she will develop initiatives focused on people, culture and growth.

Ruston’s professional background includes her most recent position as chief of staff at Sitenna, where she played a key role in enhancing operational effectiveness and developing a continuous improvement culture. Prior to that, she served in the Royal Navy, leading training governance and assurance initiatives while supporting continuous improvement across training and development functions.

“I’m excited to join Norco and to be part of a company that places such a strong emphasis on its people and culture,” said Ruston. “I look forward to collaborating with the team to drive strategic development and create a supportive, inclusive working environment that fosters growth and continuous improvement.”
