Investment targets maintenance

Scott Bader has deployed the maintenance management capabilities of enterprise resource planning (ERP) application Infor M3 at its manufacturing site in the UK.

The move extends its investment in Infor, a provider of business applications built for the cloud.

Scott Bader will use Infor’s technology to help reduce manual administration and paperwork for the preventive and breakdown maintenance undertaken. Scott Bader will also develop better data for the analysis of trends, such as the types of breakdown suffered and the equipment most prone to failure. It also aims to reduce the inventory of spares held and better align spares re-ordering to the needs of the production department, reducing downtime.

Said Kathryn Mclean, IS manager, Scott Bader: “This deployment is simply about enabling us to do our maintenance better. It will automate more of our compliance processes and increase the alignment of maintenance operations and the business. That equates to greater productivity and better customer service.”

Added Mike Edgett (pictured here), director industry marketing, process manufacturing, Infor: “Chemical manufacturers face ever-increasing compliance demands. That means automation of processes around maintenance are a critical part of ensuring that they can continue to operate at maximum capacity. This implementation shows how Infor M3 continues to offer value to Scott Bader as the relationship with Infor develops.”
