Automated clinching from Bollhoff

Bollhoff has introduced an automated, full-electric implementation of its sheet metal clinching process Rivclinch.

The cold-forming process uses a punch and die to join steel, stainless steel, aluminium and non-ferrous sheet materials without fasteners. Round or square joining points are possible.

The setting tool features 67kN electrical drive, C-Frame Select reduced-weight frame, modular design of tooling, path-controlled process with adjustable holding times to allow maximum undercut values, online process monitoring for every cycle.

Control modules include the control unit, mobile HMI panel and software.

Setting tools are avaiable from 50kg, depending on size; process cycles from one second, according to the clinching stroke.

The system can also be used to automate the use of Bollhoff Rivset, self-piercing rivet fasteners.

Also available is a spray unit to extend product life.
