Torque control screw driver has power options

UDS is claiming a revolutionary change in repeatable screw fastening technology with the introduction of the Hybrid Torque Control System into the UK.

The patented HD-Series Torque Control System is the world's first torque control tool using both air and electric power to set and control torque. Manufactured by Stuger Automation in Germany, the system's precise pneumatic pressure sensor and patented algorithm allow for precision digital torque selection and provides real-time monitoring and torque control of the tightening process. It provides repeatability of the torque applied to screws, regardless of joint characteristics and frictional differences in actual applications. UDS tells us that this flexible system can replace up to eight conventional screwdrivers and that the increase in productivity is a clear benefit. The system is also well suited to cell based manufacturing environments as the torque can be adjusted in a variety of ways: front panel, PLC or direct connection to I/O on the controller. Perhaps the most important benefit of all is derived from the system's price, which is said to be half the cost of conventional DC control tools so the user can benefit from state of the art technology at a fraction of the price.
