Three-minute cure adhesive

EP44 is a new two-component epoxy adhesive from Master Bond which gels in about three minutes.

Developed for high-performance bonding it cures in a few hours at ambient temperatures to provide a shear strength of over 3150lb/in². "EP44 produces durable high-strength, tough bonds that are resistant to thermal cycling and chemicals including water, oil, and most organic solvents over a temperature range from -60ºF to over 250ºF", reports Master Bond's James Brenner. Bonding strength is said to be "relatively insensitive" to cleaning procedures, and bonded parts can be handled within 30 minutes. Other features claimed for the adhesive are that it adheres well to metals, glass, ceramics, wood, vulcanised rubbers, and many plastics; it is "a superior electrical insulator"; and it is expected to find uses in the automotive, electronic, electrical, computer, construction, metalworking, and chemical industries
