Weld training facilities established

The move last year by Arc Machines UK to new larger premises in Daventry has enabled the company to introduce an enhanced range of onsite orbital weld training courses.

Three formally structured syllabus based training courses are to be offered comprising a two day tube welding fusion course, an advanced three day fusion course and a four-day pipe welding course. Each of the courses is run by experienced trainers who all have a cross-section of relevant orbital welding skills in order to cover the theory and practical aspects of the programmes. Arc Machines has been providing professionally structured training for a number of years, in the past accommodating all aspects of the courses has sometimes been a problem. The new training facility provides a far more structured approach and includes a dedicated classroom and workshop area for putting into practice everything learnt on the course. The training programmes are expected to attract a range of trainees from blue chip companies names to self-employed contractors, as well as individuals seeking career advancement. The most popular course is orbital tube fusion welding, which will run bi-monthly. An advanced fusion training course will take place quarterly. Training provider John Morris, commented: "The courses are both theory and practical based and through a highly structured fixed syllabus cover all relevant orbital welding aspects. We hope that the new enhanced facilities will enable more people to take advantage of the high quality training offered which must be good for everyone concerned."
