Special cables deliver high performance in specialist applications

Recognising distinct cabling requirements in a variety of industry sectors was the inspiration behind new chainflex range from igus, which has been developed specifically for the rail, lift and food industries.

The new additions to the family are the CF Special.544, an anti-microbial cable for applications that require stringent levels of hygiene, such as the food and bottling industries. The cable's special anti-microbial properties are contained throughout the composition of the jacket material, rather than just a coating, and limit the spread of micro-organisms. Halogen free CF Special.414 cable is for dynamic moving applications in rail vehicles. It has low smoke and toxicity properties, is fire retardant, has a low toxic density, is safe and is designed in accordance with government fire regulations. The TPE core is extremely high quality and offers up to two million cycles in an igus energy chain. For extremely high tensile loads, Ethernet and Profibus cable are suitable for hanging applications of up to 50 metres, such as those found in rack operating devices, hanging control units and elevators. Both cables feature a low-adhesive, highly abrasion-resistant PUR jacket material with embedded aramid webbing. All cables are rigorously tested for effectiveness and life span, and are accredited with the relevant industry standards.
