Polymer products at the FAST exhibition

Polymer specialist, igus will be showcasing its high performance plastic bearings, linear slides, energy chains and chainflex continuous-flex cables at the forthcoming FAST exhibition, being held at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon Warwickshire on 27th March 2014.

The bearings on the igus stand give good friction and wear values and are resistant to dirt, water, chemicals and extreme temperature, the company claims. These high-performance polymer bearings are self-lubricating and are therefore maintenance-free over their entire lifetime. drylin linear slides operate on lubrication-free sliding pads and are suitable for high speeds and accelerations. Typical applications include those in the medical industry, lab equipment, aerospace engineering, furniture design, and packaging machinery. igus plastic energy chains are tough, resistant to corrosion and impact, while offering high UV, temperature and precipitation stability over extremely long working lives. The benefits provided by igus e-chains mean that they are being widely adopted in industrial applications and, since plastic energy chains are much lighter than steel, their size is not self-limited by weight. Complementing the energy chains are igus chainflex cables, which have been specially developed with demanding moving applications in mind. They offer reliable performance with high cycle rates, and very small bending radii of up to four times the outer cable diameter. During the show, experts from igus will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on selecting energy chains, bearings and cabling assemblies for your own specific application.
