Airtools service expanded

Total Airtool Services UK has expanded its business with a new sales and service division opening in Berkshire. We asked managing director Chris Heavey why the company chose Berkshire.

"Firstly we already have an existing customer base in southern England and the new depot will allow us to speed up our response time but we want to grow our business and introduce new products," suggested Heavy. "For the first time Total will not only be representing our present suppliers but we are excited to announce that Total will now be representing the Atlas Copco Industrial Tool Division in this area. Asked why the website has been rebuilt with greater emphasis on used and previously owned industrial tooling, Heavey replied that his business partner Matt Waterfield was always keen to take previously used equipment back in part exchange and it seemed logical to buy back good quality tooling to resell. "After all, most engineers would rather but good quality fully guaranteed European built pneumatic equipment than unproven products from the Far East," he added. "Most companies have an excess of equipment from a finished production run. It's just logical to make this equipment available to other UK manufacturers." Total already has a compressor division based around its Midlands head office and it seemed logical to support the new division with its own compressor service department. Heavy again: "We are still in negotiation with the major screw compressor manufacturers and as soon as the t's are crossed we will start an aggressive sales campaign in order to get the service division up to speed as soon as possible."
