Self-locking nuts
SPS Technologies has made available a line of one-piece, all-metal, self-locking nuts "that keep joints secure and bolts and screws at their proper preload".
All threads on the Flexloc range of nuts are stated to be load-bearing and resist loosening in "severe" applications. "This means that greater flexibility is offered without the need for auxiliary locking devices."
They are available in UNJF and UNJC series in a variety of configurations, finishes, and materials - performing in temperatures to 1200ºF.
