Polyamide hinges know their place

CFV glass reinforced polyamide hinges really do know their place, says Nigel Pritchett, managing director of Elesa (UK).

You just open the door for them and then click-and-hold in any of four positions. This feature allows unimpeded access to equipment where otherwise nuisance door closure would be experienced, perhaps from wind gusts or from gravity. The CFV may be mounted with either countersunk head or hex head screws: it features four detent positions of -90, zero, +70 and +115 degrees, which all provide a resistant torque of 3 Nm, the torque required to free the device. CFV hinges have been tested to 20,000 operations.
