Adhesives giant, 3M has further extended its portfolio of industrial adhesive and tape products with the introduction of a new range of laminating adhesive tapes, which are able to provide greater shear and peel strength than other thicker tapes.
Laminating Adhesive 360 offers a range of features and benefits for the many OEMs designing thinner products using lighter weight materials and is available as both an adhesive transfer tape and a double coated tape. The range offers initial high tack for fast, secure assembly to a range of high surface energy (HSE) and previously difficult to bond low surface energy (LSE) substrates. These include glass, ABS and hard to bond PP, HDPE, LDPE, nylon and powder coated or UV painted surfaces.
3M claims that very thin bond lines of between 50 and 130 µm can be achieved – ideal where aesthetic considerations are paramount. The products are easy to convert, with their minimal oozing when cutting helping to address common production issues such as adhesive 'picking' during unwinding, adhesive residue on cutting blades, and adhesive sticking to liner and/ or die-cut part surfaces.
