Chemical Anchoring – Tools designed with Health & Safety in mind

2 mins read

PC Cox – the market leader for hand-held sealant and adhesive applicators – offer a range of different dispensers for chemical anchoring resins, which will help reduce strain injuries and enforce occupational health & safety guidelines.

Powerful but lightweight tools that will help improve worker’s wellbeing

With thousands of injuries and millions of lost working days due to work related health issues, it is a constant aim for employers to not just ensure but also to improve the workspace for their employees in environment, tool usage and work positioning.

Managing occupational health should most definitely be extended to reducing the risks that some jobs can carry.

When it comes to chemical anchoring it is crucial that anchors are fitted under the highest standards and always with safety in mind.

Health & Safety issues when using dispensing tools for anchoring, are mainly wrist strains, pains due to the workers position and also noise pollution - latter applies to pneumatic tools.

COX applicators offer high quality products with these problems in mind. The modern dispensers have ergonomically designed handles/triggers for comfortable use and to minimise wrist strains. The worker can wrap his hand around the handle easily and completely as recommended in the Occupational Health & Safety guidelines. They are lightweight, well balanced and offer good grip (some with rubber over moulds) for safe and easy use. All these features will help to improve the worker’s well-being and reduce his fatigue levels even when resins in larger cartridges (up to 585ml) are used.

Also the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) states that noise exposure between 80dB and 90dB for hours per day can be damaging. PC Cox has designed their pneumatic guns with noise levels well below this figure. The applicators have in-built silencers that reduce noise pollution to less than 70dB.

PC Cox offers a range of different tools for chemical anchoring:

  • Manual dispensers for occasional use.
  • Pneumatic dispensers; ideal for sites that already have compressed air available (often the anchoring holes are cleaned of dust with this too!); powerful tools for “deep” concrete anchoring
  • Cordless/battery operated dispensers; practical for difficult to reach places and for heavily repeated jobs (crash barriers for motorways)

All three types of products come with different power settings like higher trigger ratio, higher air regulators or higher powered batteries – we offer the right tool for every job!

Key features for anchoring dispenser from PC Cox:

  • Easy to hold for comfortable use
  • Lightweight for prolonged and repeated applications
  • Low noise levels on the pneumatic tools to minimise hearing damage
  • Three types of dispenser to choose, depending on the amount and location of applications
  • Different types of power/thrust available – depending on the resin viscosity
  • Tools available for all types and sizes of materials in cartridges/sachets
