WDS expands range of mounting brackets

WDS has expanded its range of gas strut mounting brackets and end fittings, giving greater installation flexibility for machine and equipment builders as well as end users.

Gas struts can be utilised to actuate and support a variety of loads, from cabinet doors to machine covers and vehicle hatches.

The new range includes a variety of circular and clevis fork brackets, as well as an array of gas strut end eyelets.

A new circular gas strut bracket is said to enable installation in space-restricted areas, making them suitable for use in applications including automotive, industrial machinery, trunks, toolboxes, and furniture. Designed to suit 10 mm angle joint balls and 4 mm screws, countersunk screw holes are claimed to remove the potential of catching fingers or material. Protrusion-free screw installation is expected to make them an aesthetic choice for use in locations such as kitchens. The bracket is supplied in zinc-plated steel, giving durability and resistance to corrosion.

WDS’s range of gas strut mounting brackets with a ball fitting stud also includes flat mounting angle, folded internal facing mount, and external facing folded mount designs, available with 10 mm or 13 mm ball fittings. Fittings manufactured from 316 stainless steel are also available for extended durability and corrosion resistance.

Additionally, the clevis fork brackets enable gas struts to connect, push, or hold a load with a clevis fitting, typically used for a stronger linkage. This makes them suitable for applications in automation, agriculture, construction, and material handling systems. Available in two sizes, there are 54 types of brackets in total, covering a range of fixing mechanisms, offering different levels of security and ease of connection.

The new brackets and eyelets are available individually or can be supplied with WDS’ range of gas struts. These are available with adjustable force, enabling the user to set the level of support according to need.
