Transform your pneumatic tools to electric

Desoutter has just launched a new screwdriver product – the ESP2-A / SLBN – aimed at the white and brown goods, and heat transfer industry.

Most of all, it is reaching out to customers looking to change from pneumatic tools to electric, it states.

The key drivers behind the move include:

  • Noise improvement
  • Reduced energy costs.

“Electric tools are 10 times cheaper than pneumatic ones to run,” said Desoutter. “Compressed air can be expensive.” The ESP2-A / SLBN will help to fulfil customers’ evolving needs, it added, “with easy integration into production lines that use PLCs. Other features include built-in in reporting through standard I/O for PLC management.

The company states that the new ESP-2A/SLBN delivers increased productivity, offers more flexible line operation and boosts quality by having a number of new features built in. The new tool also delivers other user advantages, including different speeds for different types of fastening.

“With the SLBN tool range (electric clutch shut-off tools) and ESP2 controller, you have the option to run and manage two tools on the same controller (not at the same time). Users can enable/disable tool A or B and select up to five speed settings (for different applications, material, size of screw). There are also five batch settings and the reverse can be enabled or disabled. Finally, there is a remote tool start for robots or semi-automated applications.”
