Tapes family receives LEED environmental qualification

tesa has announced that its ACXplus family of doubled-sided adhesive tapes has received accreditation from the Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).

As low-emitting materials containing less than 5g/L VOC, the tapes meet LEED's Green Building Rating System standards in New Construction and Major Renovations V2.2, Commercial Interiors V2.0 as well as Core and Shell V2.0.

ACXplus is an acrylic core double sided tape for high performance constructive bonding and is the highest performing product range made by tesa. The range is based on a solid acrylic core or a foamed acrylic core, offering high bonding power alongside high UV, temperature and solvent resistance.

Due to the high transparency, these tapes are particularly suitable for constructive bonding of transparent materials such as glass or acrylic and are being used increasingly in internal and external building applications, including sign manufacturing, wall partitioning and deco glass panels.

The viscoelastic, solid acrylic core compensates for different thermal elongation of bonded parts. Whether on glass-to-glass or glass-to-metal products such as aluminium or steel or with a transparent thermoplastic such as PMMA, the tapes offer a dependable result along with rapid, straightforward application.
