Light-curable materials specialist Dymax Europe has opened a new research and development facility at its European Headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany.

This established research and development expansion will enable Dymax Europe to implement formulation and production of new adhesives, coatings and sealants that will deliver increased value to its local customer base. "With our laboratory, we can supply customer specific solutions much faster to the European market," said Dr Belinda Berns, who will lead the new department. Berns explained that the Wiesbaden team will work very closely with R and D personnel at the company's Global Headquarters in Torrington, CT USA. This collaboration will apparently ensure that Dymax provides its European and North American customers the most technologically advanced light-cure solutions to address their specific application challenges. In addition to light-curable adhesives and coatings, Dymax also offers complementary curing lamps and dispense systems. "After our relocation from Frankfurt to Wiesbaden in 2011, the Research and Development facility is the next step to enable further growth at our location," said Stefan Katzenmayer, managing director of Dymax Europe, during the inauguration event in July, where Sven Gerich, Lord Major of Wiesbaden, and other visitors were informed of the company's activities. Additional expansion is planned as the company continues to position itself to better address the needs of its European customer base. Construction of a new production facility will take place in the near future.
