This innovative approach substantially extends the application scope of these adhesives, both in maintenance & repair and design & assembly.
LOCTITE Universal Structural Bonders combine the qualities of different adhesive types to achieve bond strength, speed of cure and durability, providing improved performance on a variety of substrates and the versatility to solve many more structural bonding challenges. They also afford improved health and safety benefits, and carry minimal hazard labelling.
The new LOCTITE HY 4070 provides a good example of what these qualities mean to maintenance engineers seeking methods to optimise efficiency and reduce costs, while keeping plant running smoothly and safely. Although suitable for the lion’s share of applications where a 60-second fixture is required, it is particularly good on mixed substrates where variable gaps up to 5mm are involved.
For design engineers, LOCTITE hybrids allow plastics, metals and composites to be freely combined, and have the potential to improve assembly applications, streamline process steps and bond materials in applications with difficult requirements. LOCTITE HY 4090, for instance, provides exceptional adhesion and strength on plastic/metal combinations and rubber materials. Fast fixturing reduces assembly time and a robust cure is quickly achieved, even at a low temperature.
