Fastening and bonding experts take to the stage at the Engineering Design Show, Coventry, 19-20 October

Adhesives supplier Intertronics, fastener manufacturer BAI, torque wrench consultancy Advanced Witness Systems and FaR Composites are some of the speakers at next week’s Engineering Design Show at the Coventry Building Society Arena in Coventry.

The two-day event covers engineering, electronics and embedded design, with some 140 exhibitors and four conference stages: Eureka (for design engineering topics), New Electronics and two workshop theatres.

Ross Minty and Lyndon Sanders of FaR Composites will speak about designing with dissimilar materials and the implications for joining them together at 11:15 on Tuesday in the Eureka conference.

Ondrej Polak, process development manager at Lisi Aerospace, will speak about the company’s manufacturing development programme with the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre to improve its BAI UK aerospace fastener factory in Rugby. His talk is scheduled for 1:30pm on Tuesday 19 October in workshop theatre one.

Peter Swanson, managing director of Intertronics, will speak about cyanoacrylate as structural adhesives in workshop theatre two at 2:30pm on Tuesday 19 October.

Ron Sangster, managing director of Advanced Witness Systems, will speak about the similarities and differences between calibration, conformity and verification of tools such as torque wrenches. He is scheduled to speak in workshop theatre two at 3:30 on Tuesday 19 October.

In addition to these presentations, industry leaders from companies including Airbus, AMRC, IBM, McLaren, Rolls-Royce are also speaking at the event.
