It is approaching the end of the year and that means BASA's joint conference with the Society for Adhesion and Adhesives' Christmas Seminar, together with its famous Christmas lunch, is fast approaching: 9 December 2010 at the SCI, 15 Belgrave Square, London.

This year's Seminar is on the essential subject of 'Surface Preparation for Adhesives and Sealants' and includes the latest academic research into the issue. Speakers will include: Graham Porcas of Plasmatreat, James Broughton of Oxford Brookes University, Tracey Glew of The Preparation Group, Terry Ashworth and Robin Ashworth of Vapormatt, Ambrose Taylor of Imperial College London, Bamber Blackman of Imperial College London and Gary Critchlow of Loughborough University. And following an 'extremely successful' BASA Dinner and Dance in November, several BASA members have asked for details of other forthcoming events. Below, you'll find some other key dates. 10 March 2011: Annual Industry Lunch and AGM, Swinfen Hall Hotel, Lichfield. April 2011: Spring Open Technical Forum, exact date and location to be confirmed. 21 June 2011: Sports Day, Hawkstone Park and West Midlands Shooting Ground. 15-16 September 2011: FEICA European Adhesives Conference, 5 Star Hotel Las Arenas, Valencia, Spain. (Registration opens March 2011). 20 October 2011: Autumn Open Technical Forum, National Motorcycle Museum, Junction 6 M42. 8 December 2011: BASA: SAA joint conference on 'Sustainability,' Society of Chemical Industry, London. Further details will be published in the BASA Bulletin and on the BASA Events page on the website (Members' area). Dates of working group meetings are also published on the website events page.
