Cleanroom to manufacture joining solutions for biotech and pharmaceutical industries

Norma Group has commissioned a cleanroom at its production site in Hustopece, Czech Republic. The facility will be operated by subsidiary Connectors Verbindungstechnik and will manufacture and pack single use systems under sterile conditions. The pharmaceutical and biotech industries use these custom-made single-use systems made of silicone to transport and store liquids and gases, but also to collect samples.

Werner Deggim, CEO of NORMA Group, commented: "Opening our first cleanroom production facility represents an important milestone for Norma Group in serving its customers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries even better and reacting more quickly to their needs. With our new cleanroom, we now carry out the entire manufacturing process for our products, including quality control, on our own premises."

The 150 m² cleanroom meets the ISO 14 644 Standard of Class 7 and offers capacities for another 800 m². The Group has been manufacturing metal-based joining solutions such as retaining clips, hose clamps, pipe connectors and profile clamps in the Czech Republic since 1995.

Connectors was established in 1985 and has been a Norma Group company since 2012. Since 2014, it has been operating a cleanroom research department at its headquarters in Tagelswangen, Switzerland, from where it markets clamps, valves, tubes and joining solutions for the transport of fluids and gases in medical applications.
