Adhesive tapes specialist returns to Engineering Design Show

1 min read

tesa will be returning to the Engineering Design Show this October to showcase its range of double-sided tapes for constructive bonding at the October show at the Ricoh Arena near Coventry.

The company has long been extolling the advantages of performance and aesthetics through the use of double-sided tapes and tesa ACXplus provides technologically advanced products that compensate for uneven surfaces and the differential thermal expansion of materials. They represent an industry benchmark that sets the performance level for double-sided adhesive tapes.

The tesa range has recently been extended to include ACXplus 7044, available in both grey and white, employing an acrylic adhesive system which achieves its performance levels through optimal wetting and adapting chemically to the bonded surfaces.

The grey and white options have been chosen to harmonise with the most commonly used colours in these sectors and the aesthetics are further enhanced through the use of a stretch resistant PV28 liner, which enables quick, easy handling and very straight, precise lines of application.

tesa tapes also play a vital role in the aviation industry, with tesa 4965 used to secure metal or plastic parts permanently – the tackified acrylic composition delivers a secure bond and in addition, offers U/V, ageing and moisture resistance to meet the demanding specification of manufacturers, along with long-term temperature resistance at 100oC, short-term at 200oC.

Panel mounting often requires very high adhesive strength over large areas and here tesa 4965’s capacity to bond either aluminium or plastic onto a range of surfaces including ABS, rubber/EPDM and LSE offers comprehensive coverage of the range of applications.

The product is approved for use in the sector, having passed vertical bunsen burner and flammability tests carried out by SGS-CSTC Ltd in relation to cargo compartment, cabin and miscellaneous materials. The tape comfortably passed the requirements on burn length, flame time and drip flame time.

Readers can catch up with the tesa team on Stand E80 at the Jaguar Exhibition Hall at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 21st and 22nd October.
