One JCS Hi-Torque customer discovered low-cost Chinese hose clips on a traction engine they were working on. These were fitted on the suction side of a steam injector, presumably to save money.
However, our customer found that these cheap hose clips were allowing air to be sucked into the injector, compromising its operation and potentially proving catastrophic. In fact, these cheaper alternatives did not fit as tightly and could not withstand a high level of torque before breaking, putting the engine at risk.
They replaced them with high-quality JCS Hi-Grip hose clips, which are designed to a high standard and tested for clamping force and torque. Immediately, our customer could see a difference, with the JCS Hi-Grip hose clips resulting in a much tighter hold, reducing the likelihood of failure in the traction engine.
Despite being such a small piece of equipment, hose clip quality is vitally important, as even small failures could prove catastrophic.

Our Hi-Grip hose clamps have also received NATO approval, with most sizes receiving a Nato Stock Number (NSN) owing to their high quality.
