Tool for restricted access rivet nuts
A rivet-nut tool recently launched by MEMFast "is proving to be very successful due to its ability to install rivet nuts in limited access applications where conventional hand pliers are just not up to the job", says the company's Ken Hastings.
It can be used to fit M3 to M10 rivet nuts and M4 to M8 rivet studs in stainless steel, steel, aluminium, and brass using a simple 'spin' action.
"Getting into tight places is a real bonus", comments Nigel Dean, a consultant in the automotive and engineering sectors who has used the product. "In addition to the quality of construction the ability to easily remove the threaded 'puller' once the rivet nut is in place makes life so easy when compared with the use of other tools."
Because of the spin action, Ken Hastings reports that the tool also is suitable for use with plastics and composite materials.
