Thread identifier

The 'Thread Detective' is described by Chris Healey, Savigny Oddie, as a "precise and easy-to-use thread identifier for nuts and bolts.

It consists of thread checkers that are assembled on to a wire lanyard and is especially suited to distinguishing between metric and inch threads."

Thread sizes are marked on the checker. The Thread Detective is equipped with an 85mm ruler for measuring stud lengths. It is provided with a long wire rope for use in hard-to-reach places, as well as loops on each end for hanging.
Three types of the product are offered:

An inch version that contains 14 popular inch nut and bolt sizes up to ½in.
A metric version with eleven metric sizes up to M12.
A combined version that unites the inch and metric products on one lanyard.
Savigny Oddie will be exhibiting at the Fastening & Assembly Solutions Show, National Motorcycle Museum, 23 October.
