tesa® 65605 is a new multi-use residue-free removable foam adhesive tape, that can be re-used up to 5 times, optimising processing and performance in a range of applications. The newly developed product expands upon the first removable PE foam tape, tesa® 65610, launched last year. The removable range eliminates adhesive residue and foam residue with a special PET reinforcement film which allows quick, easy and complete removal.

tesa, one of the world’s leading tape manufacturers, has launched a new multi-use residue-free removable foam adhesive tape, that can be re-used up to 5 times, optimising processing and performance in a range of applications.

The newly developed tesa® 65605 expands upon the first tesa PE foam removable tape, tesa® 65610, which was introduced to the market last year. The removable range eliminates adhesive residue and foam residue with a special PET reinforcement film which allows quick, easy and complete removal.

tesa® 65610 was launched as a versatile, single-use adhesive tape providing high initial and ultimate bonding power even on critical substrates, with excellent conformability that evens out imperfections. The white tape, which has a thickness of 1.25mm, consists of five layers; a release liner (brown glassine paper), an initial layer of tackified acrylic adhesive, PET reinforcement film, PE foam backing and finally a second layer of tackified acrylic Adhesive.

Whereas tesa® 65610 uses the same tackified acrylic on both open and covered sides, the new range of tesa® 65605 tape uses a different pure acrylic adhesive on the covered side. This ensures low ultimate peel adhesion and removability for multi-use on non-delaminating surfaces.

For scenarios such as the mounting of shelf edge ticket strips for retailers or refrigerator LED lighting, temporary signage in POS or decorative elements in furniture applications, tesa® 65610 remains the tape of choice to remove bonded parts from non-delaminating surfaces without leaving behind unsightly foam residue, even after extended periods of time.

The launch of tesa® 65605 will be particularly of interest to those looking to optimise their manufacturing processes. For example, signs and visual boards are often magnetically fastened and therefore limited to metal surfaces, but with tesa® 65605 Removable, these items can be mounted and demounted to and from a wide variety of surfaces, giving ultimate freedom and flexibility.

The removable range of tesa’s double-sided foam tapes saves customers time and money, disposing of the need to remove visible foam residue left by conventional foam tapes and also compensates for irregular surfaces, enabling high bonding power even on rough surfaces and an excellent shock absorption.

tesa has over 125 years of experience in coating technology and the development of adhesives, over 500 employees in R&D and about 100 new developments are produced each year; many of which are undergoing the patenting process. tesa UK’s Marketing Manager, Jeremy Smith, commented, “The introduction of tesa® 65610 last year and now the development of tesa® 65605, is testament to the company’s commitment to providing customers with innovations that will save them time and costs.”
