Rod locking system for explosion-proof enclosures

System Vision - Heavy-Duty is an explosion proof rod locking system from Albert Jagger designed specifically for enclosures using high voltage of 1000 volts or more, where there is a potential risk of electrical arc induced explosions.
There are examples of enclosure doors being propelled in excess of 10 metres following an explosion so it's imperative that containment of such doors is achieved to reduce the risk of significant further consequential damage or even loss of operator life.
To ensure maximum safety to installation and maintenance workers, the strength of this patented latching system lies in the combination of heavy duty latching pins, which are currently rated to 1100 kgs each, and through the use of special redirectional, corner control mechanisms that transfer actuation of the floating rods through 90° . This allows the use of heavy duty latching mechanisms at multiple latching points along all four sides of the door, including between any hinge points. All of which can be operated by a single external handle.
