Rod end bearings

By inserting a steel reinforcement into its rod end bearing, plastic bearings expert, igus has increased the tensile load capability by up to 50% when compared to its pure plastic versions.

The recent introduction of the EBRM-16 V has extended the company's range of dimensional series E igubal rod end bearings. "With this option, igus is closing the gap between steel and plastic parts in terms of load capacity," claimed Matthew Aldridge of igus UK. "Able to handle tensile loads up to 15kN, designers can replace steel rod end bearings with corrosion resistant and maintenance-free igubal alternatives – clearly a more cost-effective option." Typical examples of where igubal high tensile rod ends can be used include link arms and barriers used outside, particularly in solar power systems and facades, as well as pneumatic cylinders and drive mechanisms.
