Quality is everything

Quality processes haven’t always been the number one priority within the fasteners and fixings distribution market. Despite this, TFC have bucked the trend and made it their goal to embrace quality, becoming a quality assured company in 1981. This has enabled them to build a reputation as a leading supplier of high-quality industrial fixings and fastenings.

TFC’s extensive range of products can be supported with ISO, AS or individual original equipment manufacturer (OEM) approvals with lot traceability certification. This includes the designing of flat wire wave springs and retaining rings, stockholding, packaging and supply, technical support and sourcing from product suppliers.

The company doesn’t just apply this attitude to quality to its products, but to every aspect of the business. All TFC’s supply chain partners are carefully selected in line with quality. And, more than this, the company’s commitment to quality extends to investing in its staff, so that they have exceptional market knowledge and provide first-class customer service.

The company conducts full inward and outbound inspection and has dedicated quality assurance/quality control personnel on every site. As part of its commitment to quality, TFC invested in a fully equipped in-house QA Laboratory at its Heathfield headquarters, so that it can verify parts in-house rather than using timely third party alternatives.

TFC’s QA Laboratory tests:

  • Product profile
  • Material hardness
  • Surface roughness
  • Positive material analysis
  • Plating thickness
  • Spring load/deflection characteristics
  • Torque testing
  • Digital measuring accuracy
  • Go/NoGo and slip gauging
  • Calibrated test weighing

Compliance: TFC’s services and products fully meet the quality requirements of ISO 9001:2015. The company operates a single quality management system, with a multi-site certification structure, compliant with the requirements for ISO 9001:2015. Products can also be supplied in accordance with REACH, RoHs, Weee and conflict minerals.

Aerospace: In addition, TFC’s Management system has also been certified to enhanced Aerospace AS 9100:2016 and AS9120:2016 standards (AS 9100D and AS 9120B). This standard helps to improve quality throughout the aerospace supply chain and all of TFC standard procedures, while minimising costs.

Customers working in other industries such as automotive, medical and oil and gas, where rigorous quality is of the highest importance for safety and compliance reasons, can also rest assured that TFC’s products are up to the job.
