Portable welding machines
With the introduction of the Tradestig portable welding machines Murex Welding Products believes that "welding craftsmen will have the optimum solution for a wide range of TIG ac/dc welding applications".
The units will be suited to applications in the transport, process, shipbuilding, offshore, and mobile machinery markets as well as for general light fabrication, civil construction, and repair and maintenance functions, says Cheron Robinson, Murex.
The Tradestig AC 220 and AC 220a machines are described as compact and impact-resistant with a polymer and aluminium casing.
"A key feature is the 'Power Factor Correction' which makes it possible to use the full range of the machines on a 16A fuse. This also protects against fluctuating mains voltage and makes them safer to use with a generator."
In both ac and dc modes these welding machines "will give an excellent arc strike and consistent, stable arc".
All types of materials and thicknesses up to 5mm can be welded.
