Pocket-sized thread repair solution

Armstrong Precision Components has launched the ArmaCoil Eco-Kit - "a pocket-sized solution for thread repairs".

The stainless steel kit is a three-step system. "It is supplied with all of the equipment required for a fast and effective repair", explains the company's business development director John Hope. No special training, instruments, or tooling during installation are required for Eco-Kit which is available in metric, UNC, and UNF options.

"Suitable for the engineer who has only a few repairs to make, Eco-Kit will recover any damaged product in three easy steps", says John Hope.

These are:

Drill out the hole to clear any damaged thread, using a standard drill to the specified size on the kit.
Use the ArmaCoil tap and position the adjustable ring so that the insert tang is centred in the tang slot at the correct depth.
Wind the insert in to the hole with a light downward pressure until a quarter to a half turn below the surface.
