New bonding solutions from Lohmann structural bonding films

Lohmann has three "reactive chemical processes," adhesives based on cyanoacrylates (called "Amber"), polyurethanes ("Topaz") and epoxides ("Onyx"). They are grouped under the broad term "Superior Bonding Films". These adhesive films that can be activated and satisfy different respective requirements.

The Topaz-Technology is a Superior Bonding Film based on polyurethane technology for fast bonding processes with low activation temperature. The thermosetting film unites the advantages of an easy to handle "dry" adhesive film with structural bonding performance. At room temperature the transparent film is not sticky but under heat it develops an immediate high bonding strength which enabled by a rapid activation of the adhesive. One of the main advantages in comparison to a conventional adhesive tape is that it is up to ten times stronger under shear stresses and up to 1000 times more durable. It is suitable for bonding various materials in multiple applications like mobile phones, security documents and light weight multi-layer constructions such as profiles and interior trim.
