Lohmann develops flame-retardant adhesive tape
The "Bonding Engineers" at Lohmann have developed a flame-retardant double-sided adhesive tape called DuploCOLL 94100 FR (flame retardant) which can be used in a variety of areas where stringent fire safety regulations have otherwise made it difficult to apply adhesive joins.
The new product comprises a flame-retardant non-woven carrier, a silicone paper liner and a specially-developed acrylic adhesive system. The new adhesive tape is particularly suitable for high-tech sectors where fire safety is a high priority. These include the automotive, railway and aviation industries, shipbuilding or the electrical and electronics industry. Many applications are also possible in the construction industry, including in the manufacture of fire protection windows and doors, interior partition walls or elevators. Thanks to its flame-retardant features, DuploCOLL FR not only complies with maximum safety requirements but is also very environmentally-friendly as the new product range is free of solvents, halogens and APEOs (alkylphenolethoxylates).
