Innovative panel fastener launched at FAST

The recently released button-fix panel fastening concept has been further developed by London-based designers Wills Watson Associates and is being launched at the forthcoming FAST Exhibition on October 18th.

The button-fix concept is really very simple, says the company. Durable nylon buttons are attached to one panel and the mating fixes are attached to the other. To secure the joint, the panels are brought together until the button-fixes click. Two types of button-fix have now been developed: the Type 1 Fix is either surface-mounted or rebated into the panel, and orientated for vertical or sideways assembly; the Type 2, which launches at next week's FAST Exhibition, connects panels which are intended to be perpendicular to each other.

This new addition lets the designer use button-fix in even more applications and makes it ideal where the emphasis is on ease of fit rather than strength with a simple push/pull assembly.

As well as seeing the product in the raw, visitors can still request a free sample or watch the independent test video. There is also a series of 'How it works' videos for both types of fix to watch on the Button-Fix website.

If you want to know more about Button-fix or have questions you'd rather ask the team behind the product face to face, then come to the National Motorcycle Museum on Thursday 18th October 2012 where the button-fix concept is being demonstrated. Entry to the exhibition, which is from 08:30am until 2pm is free.
