GWR Colourfast® Is Capturing Industry Imagination

1 min read

GWR Fasteners Limited, a multi-award winning company, developed an innovative process to colour stainless steel fasteners and precision components – GWR Colourfast®. Since its initial development for the motorbike customisation market, GWR Colourfast® has attracted various industries such as food manufacturers, oil and gas, defence, museums, electronics, military, dentistry and more.

GWR Fasteners Limited is a multi-award winning fasteners distributor, manufacturer of special fasteners and precision components and a manufacturer of their unique GWR Colourfast® – coloured stainless steel fasteners and components available in red, blue, black, green, brass and copper. Gary Robinson, the Managing Director, a typical engineer with an inquisitive mind, wanted to provide customers with an alternative offering other than anodised aluminium fasteners. Aluminium, by its very nature, cannot be used in any stress points where excessive pressure is applied, as this can cause deformities in the metal and it can also be a safety issue. Gary decided to design a process whereby a coating could be applied to stainless steel fasteners so that not only do they have aesthetic properties, they would also have practical capabilities too. Hence GWR Colourfast® was born back in 2011. Even though GWR Colourfast® was developed with the motorbike customisation market in mind, customers from far and wide and from diverse industries use GWR Colourfast® for their own unique applications. GWR Colourfast® fasteners and precision components are used in industries such as food manufacturing, oil and gas, defence, in museums, electronics, military, dentistry, architecture, bespoke guitars, luxury garden furniture, remote control cars and much more. GWR Fasteners Limited also has the capability to manufacture special fasteners and precision components with their in-house Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Machine providing customers with a unique opportunity for precision stainless steel parts in various colours. GWR Colourfast® continues to grow in popularity and in November 2012, the company was recognised by Theo Paphitis for his Small Business Sunday (#SBS) Twitter initiative raising the company profile significantly. GWR Fasteners Limited is also a major sponsor of Extreme Events Europe, a world-wide touring stunt show, and the GWR Colourfast® fasteners have been used on their monster trucks, stunt bikes and other vehicles. The company were also the Regional Winner (West Midlands) for Best Innovation in the FSB WorldPay UK Business Awards in May 2014.
