Fastener range designed for harder plastics

1 min read

A significant investment in product development for the thermoset and thermoplastic industries has enabled TR Fastenings to expand its screws for plastics range with the introduction of a product with a 45-degree angle and Tri-lobular thread form, which makes it ideal for harder plastics

The Plas-Fix 45 complements TR 's Plas-Tech 30 screw, which has a 30-degree angle and is used extensively in softer plastics. The complete range offers a number of different head styles and thread sizes, ranging from 1.4mm up to 6.0mm. Both screws are available off-the-shelf in case-hardened steel and offer superior screw performance with low torque drive and high pull out strengths. TR's products for plastics are claimed to meet virtually all assembly requirements within the thermoset and thermoplastic industries and can offer considerable time and cost-saving benefits. Additionally, they are designed for optimum performance and therefore can be used in a number of different industries, including electrical, telecommunications, sound and vision. TR Fastenings product specialist Steve Wallis claimed: "In recent months, TR has invested heavily in its products for plastics ranges. We are confident that we now have a quality fastener to suit most applications and we welcome the opportunity to discuss requirements with manufacturers."
