The tool, designated E-PSG 256, is an electrical installation tool supplied with a computer process control unit that, once set to the recommended parameters, makes Helicoil® installation more reliable. Operation is also simplified by a green light for a correct installation and a red light for a failed installation.
The benefits of the E-PSG 256 installation tool are that torque values and acceleration functions are easily adjustable and controllable. This particularly meets the needs of, for instance, Aerospace material combinations (between the base materials and the Helicoil® inserts). The tool is small and fully transportable requiring only a standard 13A plug socket. Because it uses a brushless drive, the tool is also suitable for clean room operation.
