Epoxy adhesive system receives GL approval
Huntsman Advanced Materials has received approval from Germanischer Lloyd (GL) for Araldite AW 4856 / Hardener HW 4856 Fast; an epoxy adhesive system designed for the manufacture of wind blades and large composite parts.
The system has been certified as a Duromeric adhesive, comprising good thixotropic and low exothermic properties. Offering increased toughness and fatigue resistance in applications requiring load bearing strength, this adhesive also provides excellent adhesion under adverse application conditions.
Huntsman offers a full range of products that can be used in the Wind Energy sector, including seamless modelling pastes for master models, gel coats and resins for mould production, GL certified resins and adhesives for parts production, as well as materials for on-site repairs.
