Ejot launches fastener specification App for Design Engineers

1 min read

Thread-forming technology and its capability to achieve high strength joints whilst reducing assembly parts is well profiled in EJOT’s new specification App aimed at Design Engineers.
The app provides a specification route for a variety of engineering materials, explaining the science of thread geometry along the way.

Engineering Fastener manufacturer EJOT has launched a new and comprehensive Product Selection App, initially for iPad and iPad Mini.

The new App has been developed by EJOT's Application Engineers in the UK, with the focus on matching core thread-forming products to key assembly substrates; thermoplastics, thermoset plastics, sheet metals, cast materials and extrusions.

Whilst these substrates span a diverse spectrum of assembly applications, EJOT products notoriously share a core benefit of creating a high strength joint whilst either reducing assembly processes, assembly components – or both. This in turn presents design engineers with new flexibilities and material options, whilst introducing significant bottom line savings.

For thermoplastics and thermoset assemblies, the new App presents EJOT Delta PT® and Delta PT® DS. Both fasteners are derivatives from the original EJOT PT® fastener that is credited with revolutionising plastic assemblies.

For sheet material assembly joints, the App presents a selection route to variants of the EJOT FDS® (Flow Drilling Screw) and the EJOT SHEETtracs® screw. Here, product selection is influenced by sheet materials and assembly techniques to be employed.

For cast materials and extrusions the product selection route presents either EJOT Spiralform® or EJOT Altracs Plus® as an engineered option.

Each EJOT product profiled by the App is extensively supported by well explained design specifications and the science that sits behind each fastener's thread-forming capability. Also included are clear and concise installation animations.

Once a potential specification route has been identified by the design engineer, EJOT is able to provide extensive project support via a collaboration between the customer and EJOT's application engineers and technicians here in the UK. Support also comes globally by counterparts in over 30 countries.

An overview of further design elements such as head styles and coatings is also provided by the new App which can be downloaded free via iTunes and the App Store. Simply search for EJOT Industrial Fasteners.
