Round wire wave springs offer increased and more accurate loading compared to alternative spring options like disc springs or Belleville washers. Additionally they require less radial space, offering more clearance and benefitting overall component size and weight which can be critical design considerations. This small power package is now available from Rotor Clip, a globally trusted manufacturer of wave springs, circlips, and hose clamps.

Somerset, NJ (March 6, 2020) - Rotor Clip, the leading manufacturer of retaining rings, spiral rings and wave springs is pleased to announce the latest addition to its spring range, the SRT Round Wire Wave Spring. The SRT is a single-turn wave spring coiled from round-section wire instead of the typical wave spring flat wire. This contributes to increased and more accurate loading compared to alternative spring options like disc springs or Belleville washers.

The SRT offers compression loads comparable to disc springs or Belleville washers, with the advantage of improved load accuracy due to greater deflection and up to 25% reduced radial cavity. The significantly reduced section width reduces the required radial space, thus benefitting overall component size and weight which can be critical design considerations. In addition, the spring is coiled not stamped from sheet material; therefore the metal grain stays intact for a stable product, reducing environmental impact by decreasing waste and making it a more cost-effective manufacturing option.

SRT wave springs are designed for use in high load, high spring rate, static or low cycling applications. They are capable in a wide range of industries such as Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Automotive and Fluid Transfer. It is specified for many applications such as heavy-duty clutches, ball valve seats, bearing preload and hydraulic and pneumatic directional control valves.

“Due to the success of Rotor Clip’s TruWave
® wave spring program made from flat wire and being the one- stop-shop for all our customer’s needs, it was a logical consequence to extend our wave spring range. The new SRT series offers technical and economic benefits to our customers in all kind of industries. The more accurate definition of the spring characteristic during the design phase, less need of radial space and the fact only one spring element needs to get assembled compared to disc spring stacks are justifying the launch of the new SRT series.” says Elmar Kampmann, Global Wave Spring Engineer.

The SRT standard range is available now in sizes ranging from .500 to 6 inch (12.7– 152.4 millimeters) in carbon and stainless steel. Custom designs also made from exotic alloys can be offered without tooling costs involved. For more details or to request a sample, please visit the page indicated below.
