Coatings for threaded fasteners
KV Group has developed a range of coatings specifically for use on threaded fasteners and components.
The Tribovis brand is a water-based, micronised polyethylene dry film coating that contains solid film lubricants.
"After application and drying of the products the residual film coating is virtually invisible with excellent lubricating and frictional properties", says Mark Arnell, the company's United Kingdom business manager. "The coatings are very clean once applied. Unlike oil or grease they do not attract dust or dirt."
Benefits to threaded components include a constant torque, consistent quality, and a low coefficient of friction with a very small range of variation, says Mark Arnell. "The coatings offer excellent abrasion and water resistance, they are silicone-free, and they offer good adhesion with all types of materials." As well as threaded fasteners and screws, rivets, nails, pins, and dowels can benefit from the application of the Tribovis coatings.
