Cat walk fastening

A request from up and coming fashion designer, Pandora Bahrami, presented fixing and fastening experts, TFC Europe, with a somewhat unusual challenge.

Pandora wanted to use a selection of retaining rings for her knitted and crocheted designs as a modern twist on traditional Iranian clothing. Pandora's collection reflected the contrast between both tradition and modern design and represented a fusion of her own background which is half British and half Iranian. The designs certainly caught the imagination of the judges at Graduate Fashion Week who nominated Pandora?s designs for the Visionary Knitwear Award and the Textiles award. On helping Pandora, TFC Europe?s Technical Director, Brian Goode commented: "I am never surprised at the versatility and range of uses for our products. They have been used attached to Mini Coopers flying down the Lillehammer ski slope in Norway, and on the Mars Lander probe touching down on the surface of the Red planet; so to find them used in a fashion collection, while unusual, does not surprise me. I am glad we could help Ms. Bahrami with her design and wish her great success with her future in the world of fashion."
