Blind rivet nut setting tool

1 min read

A pneumatic setting tool has been introduced by Bollhoff Fastenings "to a market in which blind rivet nuts are being used to place a reinforced thread into sheet metals, profiles, and hollow sections".

Using automatic force control when 'pulling up' a fastener from one side of a workpiece, the design employs pressure sensitivity on the tool stroke to ensure consistent setting, even when dealing with variable material thicknesses. Operating from a pneumatic supply of from 5 bar to 7 bar pressure with each cycle using 8l of air, the P2007 is operated by a single trigger movement. Once set up for a given thread diameter within an M3 to M10 overall capacity the installer can set up to 15 of Bollhoff's RivNut blind rivet nuts in a minute. "A 'twist-to-set' colour-coded pressure regulator can be used to change the tool to set a different diameter blind rivet nut", explains managing director Andy Witts. "Maintaining pressure on the trigger throughout the cycle ensures consistent results."
