Aerospace locknuts have non-metallic inserts

US manufacturer SPS Technologies, which has been producing high-strength fasteners and precision components since 1903, is offering a line of ESNA aerospace locknuts with non-metallic inserts in a wide range of configurations.

A red nylon is used as the locknut insert material for applications up to 250oF but a Vespel insert material may be used in applications up to 500oF.

Wrenchable nuts are available in hex and double hex styles, and may be ordered in sizes from #10 through 1-3/4in diameters. Anchor nuts, also known as plate nuts, are available in fixed and floating styles in sizes from #4 through 5/8in diameters, depending on the style. Barrel nuts are available in a range of sizes from #10 through 1-1/2in diameters, while shank nuts may be ordered in sizes from #8 through 3/8in diameters.

SPS Technologies supplies high-strength fasteners for commercial and military aircraft, jet engines, high performance racing and other applications requiring reliability and consistent quality.
