Adhesive

Techsil is promoting the use and the benefits of RTV 210, an adhesive used in the fixing of automotive headlamps as well as oven doors, solar panels, and electronic and electrical devices.

Described by the company's marketing executive Jane Powell as "a two-component, thixotropic, pasty silicone elastomeric system", RTV 210 is stated to offer a "very fast" cure - six minutes tack-free time. "The paste quickly cures to a durable and resilient silicone rubber at room temperature with primer-less adhesion to many substrates. The thick consistency makes it suitable for application to vertical and to overhead surfaces and also allows the fixture of small parts in place while the adhesive cures." The product is manufactured by Momentive Performance Materials (formerly GE Bayer Silicones) for which Techsil is an approved distributor.
