Founded in 1840 in Paris, Pinet has been in the same family for six generations and is recognised today as being a leading manufacturer in Europe of hinges and hardware.

The company's current marketing strategy would suggest it favours direct selling techniques, especially from the Internet and for that reason has launched a new catalogue which features more than 30 new products and 135 new part numbers. The new publication helps product selection by offering drawings and photographs for a better understanding of the offering and now runs to 370 full colour pages. The publication is available in English, German and French and can also be viewed on the Internet. The comprehensive publication details the company's range of hinges, including continuous hinges, spring hinges, friction hinges, concealed hinges and cranked hinges as well as a full range of latching systems, handles and various supporting mechanisms. In a fast moving world, Pinet says it has created a global network and has developed partnerships with companies in Europe, USA, Japan and China, which enables the company to offer a substantial range of products at competitive prices. France based Pinet currently export around 30% of its turnover via its two subsidiary companies in the UK and Germany along with a network of distributors and sole agents.
