Polyurethane (PU) is said to be a versatile and abrasion-resistant material. Other useful properties include chemical resistance and flexibilty at low temperatures. Viva’s PU comes in plate, rod, tube or custom forms in varying Shore hardnesses including 35-95 Shore A and 55-77 Shore D. Available colours are yellow, natural, red, orange, green, blue, black, white.
Once cast into semi-finished profiles or custom shapes, polyurethane is an easy-to-machine material with impact dampening and noise reduction properties, according to Viva Nylon. It is said to be a suitable engineering polymer for manufacturing seals, washers or rollers.
